George Taylor House Historic Window Preservation Fund
For 2026, the George Taylor House Association has made it our mission to begin one of the most important preservation efforts in the history of the house: the restoration of its historic windows.
The George Taylor House is more than an old stone building. It is the home of George Taylor, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and a place where generations of American history are still felt today. As our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, we are reminded that preserving America’s story is not only about remembering the past. It is about protecting the places that allow that history to live on.
The windows of the George Taylor House are part of that story.
These windows have looked out over centuries of change. They have weathered time, seasons, celebrations, uncertainty, and progress. Preserving them is not simply a cosmetic improvement. Historic window restoration protects the integrity of the house, honors its craftsmanship, improves long-term preservation, and helps ensure that future generations can experience the George Taylor House as authentically as possible.
This work requires specialized historic preservation methods, careful documentation, and skilled craftsmanship. It is a major investment, but it is also a necessary one.

Restore the 4 Front Main-Floor Windows
Phase One will begin with the restoration of the four front main-floor windows of the George Taylor House. These are among the most visible windows of the home and an important first step in preserving the historic character of the property.

It is in the stone walls, the historic rooms, the stories we tell on tours, the Declaration Reading held each Fourth of July, and the preservation work that keeps this landmark standing.
